Course objectives

Innovative technologies in healthcare – which are new technologies, processes or products that aim to improve healthcare by making medicine, surgery and services more efficient, accessible and affordable – have the potential to revolutionize medical practices.

Innovation in healthcare is active across multiple sectors, including the deployment of telemedicine, robotics, nanomedicine, and more. Recent advancements in technology and a growing focus on improving patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency have resulted in the rapid evolution of healthcare innovations in recent years.

In this scenario, the student must understand the principal elements of different technologies, including their role in moder healthcare, the positive and eventually negative aspects related to their implementation, and the possibilities to use Artificial Intelligence to manage them.
