Course objectives
Innovative technologies in healthcare – which are new technologies, processes or products that aim to improve healthcare by making medicine, surgery and services more efficient, accessible and affordable – have the potential to revolutionize medical practices.
Innovation in healthcare is active across multiple sectors, including the deployment of telemedicine, robotics, nanomedicine, and more. Recent advancements in technology and a growing focus on improving patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency have resulted in the rapid evolution of healthcare innovations in recent years.
In this scenario, the student must understand the principal elements of different technologies, including their role in moder healthcare, the positive and eventually negative aspects related to their implementation, and the possibilities to use Artificial Intelligence to manage them.

Results of learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
- KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING - acquisition of theoretical knowledge concerning innovative technologies in healthcare with a focus on most relevant ones linked to the use of Artificial Intelligence
- APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING - acquisition of the ability to apply the theoretical knowledge to the solution of cases, with a focus on relevant issues managed with Artificial Intelligence
- MAKING JUDGEMENTS - acquisition of aware judgment autonomy concerning evaluation and interpretation of new technologies to achieve strategic choices in relevant situations
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS - acquisition of multidisciplinary communication skills and expertise, as well as the acquisition of elements of technical terminology
- LEARNING SKILLS - acquisition of autonomous learning capacity and self-assessment of its preparation, to undertake subsequent studies with a high degree of autonomy
