Internships
Students enrolled in the Master Program in Artificial Intelligence for Biomedicine and healthcare have to record a total of 6 ECTS (1 ECTS = 25 h) in Internships activities to acquire expertise working in laboratory: ONC0265 - INTERNSHIP
Internships can be carried out in any laboratory affiliated to a Department of the University of Torino, or to a public/private research institution with which the University has stipulated a formal agreement.
To start the internship, the student must complete the following procedure at least 15 days before the beginning of the activity.
- Contact the supervisor of the laboratory (Internship Tutor) to verify the availability to be hosted for the internship . Once the availability has been verified, you need to define an educational project with the appointed tutor, in which it is mandatory to include the following information:
- Goals of the internship;
- A description of planned activities;
- Knowledge, skills and abilities to be acquired;
- The time frame (inclusive of months, weekdays and working hours) in which the internship will take place.
- You must have a valid ‘Occupational Safety Training’ certificate. If the certificate is more than 5 years old, it needs to be updated.
- Read COVID-19 information at the link
- Fill out the following form with the information you agreed on with the Tutor
- Sign the Educational Project you will receive from the Job Placement Office (jobplacement.medicina@unito.it) and return it by email. Then, the Office will ask the Department/Center Director the formal authorization to carry on the Internship
Medical surveillance
- Upon the Tutor's request, the Prevention and Protection Service Officer (ASPP) will complete the Risk form using the UNITOSSL (Occupational Health and Safety) application, thereby initiating the process for medical surveillance.
- Both the Tutor and the Student will receive an e-mail invitation (sent to their academic email addresses) to accept the Risk form. This step is crucial to proceed with the procedure.
- Once the acceptance is confirmed, the Prevention and Protection Service Manager (RSPP) and the Director of the respective Department/Center will be notified. They will assess the risks associated with the internship and validate the Risk Form. Subsequently, the Competent Physician will take over and arrange the necessary medical examination, sending a summoning email to the Student. If no risks are indicated on the Risk Form, a medical evaluation will not be required.
- If the Competent Physician determines the need for an evaluation and schedules it, the Student must present her/himself for the medical evaluation on the specified date and location mentioned in the e-mail.
